Rolando Toledo, gerente general de la Red Científica Peruana, informó que debido a que los dominios .pe se están modernizando, alcanzado niveles mundiales, desde el 8 de diciembre entrarán en vigor nuevas políticas para su registro.
Precisó que estos cambios permitirán que todas las instituciones y organizaciones peruanas se modernicen y aprovechen las oportunidades que el país enfrentará en los próximos años.
En este sentido, explicó que con esta innovación del .pe, la página en Internet que usualmente visita un usuario será más simple y de mejor recordación.
Esto significa que todo aquel que posea un dominio (Ej: empresa.com.pe), y que deseen obtener uno más corto (Ej: empresa.pe) tendrán hasta el 7 de diciembre un periodo de gracia, tiempo en que podrán efectuar su reserva para el uso exclusivo y comercialización del nuevo dominio por un período de dos años.
Toledo indicó que es necesario que el .pe se convierta en el referente de identidad peruano en Internet, “el ADN de lo peruano” en el marco del proceso de globalización.
